Lewis Gates had an incredible thirty five year career portraying his hero Elvis Presley.
He bagan his career in the pubs and clubs around the Manchester UK area. Under the guidance of his good friend Jimmy Bond. Having been told by his own Mum that he couldnt sing. Jimmy thought there was something special on the horizon. So Lewis and Jimmy started making audio cassettes in the format of an Elvis show, he was going to be an Elvis mime act!
He did this with a surprising amount of success. He did summer seasons at The Harbour Hotel in Kinmel Bay North Wales. Infact he performed every night for twenty two weeks. While he was miming he was actually singing into a dummy microphone, eventually training his voice to be identical to Elvis. Eventually he was talked into going completely live. This is where his career sky rocketed. With the addition of his own band...The Beale St Band. Doors opened to many prestigious appearances at venues such as The Cannes Film Festival, Planer Hollywood London, The Dorchester Hotel London and many many more!....full list on this website!
He retired through ill health in 2018. His last show was at his brothers Elvis Restaurant - ELVIS Kitchen in Hazel Grove.
He is happily married to his soulmate Jacqui, He is also proud of his son Ben who is a drummer and indeed played with his dads band. Lewis has also publidhed his autobiography...With A Humble Heart. Available from Amazon.

Studio Version 2010

Pete Presleys RAISED ON ROCK was devised in 2009 by Pete's son Ben. The idea was to mash Elvis songs with classic rock anthems! The musicians were dressed as Rock Icons, Slash, Lemmy, Angus Young, Paul Stanley, John Bonhan, Van Halen with Pete providing his incredible Elvis vocals. They rehearse twice a week for one year until everything was tight. They went on the road playing at small venues mainly because the bigger rock clubs couldnt visualize Elvis as lead vocals. Well it was their loss because Pete engaged an A&R company from London who got the bands demo song Paranoid/Burning Love played on 152 radio stations on the east coast of America. There was lots of interest so a small tour of America was being arranged. Then right out the blue Tommy who was the essence of Slash ended his life! All the band were devastated which unfortunately ended the band.
A brand NEW character Mr G and THE VOODOO CHILDREN with musical influences from New Orleans, Cajun, The Blues and Country Rock.
